School Nurse and Health Office
Health Office Nurse - 357-9020 x 5015
School Health Services provides support to students to help them achieve and maintain their optimal level of health and wellness. The school nurse is available to assist students and families with questions or concerns that relate to the child’s health. As a member of the school team, the school nurse works closely with teachers and others to ensure that the child’s educational goals are being met.
Medications and Screenings
Prescription and non-prescription medication to be taken during school time must be delivered to school by the parent in the original container. Written permission from the parent/guardian must be sent to the nurse for any student who will be taking medication during the school day. Prescription medications require authorization from the physician.
Heights and weights are done each school year for 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Dental screenings take place in the eighth grade, usually in January.
7th-grade students will be offered a Vision screening sponsored by the Keene Lion's Club. A parent permission form will be needed to do this screening. That form comes home in the first day of school packet.
