Keene Middle School Band and Strings
6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Band meet on days 1, 3, and 5 in the Band/Strings room.
6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Strings meet on days 2, 4, and 6 in the Band/Strings room.

Band and Strings Sectionals
6th, 7th, and 8th Grade band and strings students are assigned to sectional groups on a rotating schedule. Students will receive their group assignments in late September or early October. Please contact Mrs. Hahs or Ms. Young for more information.
Keene Middle School Chorus
6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Chorus students are assigned to an even day chorus class or odd day chorus class for the year.
- 6th Grade: Period 7
- 7th Grade: Period 3
- 8th Grade: Period 5
Keene Middle School General Music
6th, 7th, and 8th Grade General Music classes meet every day for one quarter. 6th Grade students are assigned to an even day or odd day class. 7th and 8th Grade general music meets on odd days only.

Our Music Curriculum
The KMS Music Curriculum is based on the national and state music standards. We strive to give every student the opportunity to have a broad and varied music education during their time here at Keene Middle School, regardless of which music classes they take.
National Music Standards

- Improvising melodies, variations, and accompaniments.
- Composing and arranging music within specified guidelines.
- Reading and notating music.
- Listening to, analyzing, and describing music.
