In the update on Monday, January 11th, I announced that all of our schools would be returning to onsite learning on January 19th. I also announced that our administrative team would be meeting during the week and if there was a need to make any change to that guidance, we would do so accordingly.
Through consultation with all of our building leaders, we have determined that all SAU 29 schools will continue with the remote model through January 29th and resume our onsite learning models effective February 1st.
This decision was not made lightly, arbitrarily or unilaterally. We have reviewed our decision making metrics and matrix and believe a return to onsite is achievable as it is not dependent solely on the community transmission level. However, the additional time will afford us the ability to further prepare for the return of students to onsite teaching and learning.
We further understand and appreciate the frustration that not being onsite causes for individuals and we would like to be very clear that it is absolutely our desire and intention to return to a model that supports that. We thank you for your understanding and apologize for any difficulties this decision may have caused. If you have any further questions or concerns, please reach out to your school(s).
