Wednesday, October 9 Day 5

Today for lunch is Whole Chicken Breast patty on a whole grain bun

The Book Patrol Team will visit Clusters C & D this morning during homeroom. Students should check due dates on library books and return any overdue items to the the book patrol team.

There will be a Fundraising dance this Friday from 6:30 until 8:30. Tickets will be sold at all lunches beginning today. Cost is $5. There will be pizza and water to purchase during the dance. Come have a fun time with your friends and help support this years trip to Washington.

Math Counts will meet this afternoon from 2:45 to 3:25 in room 2404. Please wait in the bus room for Mr. Paone to get you. All students are welcome!

Attention all students who signed up for WCAN at club sign ups: New announcers and tech crew members will be added soon. Please stop by the IMC sometime this week to pick up an application and recommendation form if you are still interested. See Ms. Rafferty if you have any questions.

Attention all 8th graders - all gift sale orders and money are due to Mr. Paone in room 2404 by Tuesday, October 15. If you have any questions or need more order forms, please see Mr. Paone.

Attention all student council representatives and alternates, the first student council meeting of the year will be held today at 2:45 in room 1206. Please wait in the bus room or your clusters' homework club until that time. See Mr. Vernon or Mrs. Larareo with any questions.

Peace and Justice Club will meet Thursday right after school with Ms. Stacey in the IMC. All are welcome.

Attention KMS: The New Hampshire Cyber Robotics Coding Competition starts next week. This is an exciting opportunity for EVERYONE to learn about coding and robotics! No experience is necessary!! There will be an informational meeting after school next Tuesday in the PC lab, 2:30 - 3:15. Ms. Rafferty will help you sign up and get started. If you can’t make the meeting but want to participate, see Ms. Rafferty in the IMC.

Saxophones have sectionals today. Remember to check in with your teacher before coming down.

Jazz Improv Workshop with Mrs. Hahs and George Robinson starts this Friday! You do not have to be in jazz band to participate, but do need to know how to play an instrument. We meet in the Band Room from 2:30-3:15. Staff are welcome to join in, too!

The Boys B soccer team played yesterday against Mt Anthony. At the start of the game, both teams were very compact and organized defensively.  At the final whistle, the KMS team won 4-3. Great job team!

The girls B Soccer hosted Mt. Anthony yesterday. What a beautiful Day. Our offense tried to create shots, but were short in the first half. Mt. Anthony answered. 1-0. In the second half, KMS scored right off to tie the game. While the offense and defense continued to fight, Mt Anthony snuck in a goal. Ending the tie, 2-1. These girls fought really hard. Their next game is Thursday. Come ready to play, ladies!

It was a beautiful day for running and many personal records were set yesterday as KMS Cross Country team hosted Fall Mountain. The girls swept the top 5 and the boys had 5 out of the top 10 runners. Come see them in Surry this Saturday.

Attention to all students who like to ski or snowboard. Mr. Pierce and Mr. Fazio will be hosting the KMS Ski and Snowboard Voyager club again this year. This club focuses on getting you and your friends outside to hit the slopes. Starting in January, the club meets every Friday for after school night skiing or riding at Crotched Mountain.

After completing the 5 week Voyager program, you get a free season pass which is good at 7 different mountains, including Crotched Mountain, Mount Snow, and Wildcat. This pass will be valid right in time for February vacation.

For students who are interested in the ski and snowboard club, there will be a meeting in the gym directly after school this Thursday until 2:45. At the meeting you will receive additional information and a handout on how to sign up. If you cannot make the meeting, see Mr. Pierce or Mr. Fazio. This is not a school sponsored event.
