Red Ribbon Week begins Wednesday and is the oldest drug prevention program in the nation. Mr. Folsom, our school Student Assistance Counselor, is looking for help making posters for Red Ribbon Week. Posters will be displayed around the school and if there are enough entries we may have a contest for the best poster with prizes! You can also enter the Red Ribbon Theme Contest with a chance to win $500 in Red Ribbon merchandise for your school. This year's theme is "Send a message. Stay drug free" but we need a new one for 2020! Maybe it can be yours which would be used nationally next year. We also hope all students will sign the pledge "I value my life and the lives of my family and friends." See Mr. Folsom in Guidance for more information if you want to be a part of this project.

The NH Cyber Robotics Competition is underway and it's not too late to join! See Ms. Rafferty in the IMC for instructions on how to get started. The PC lab will be open after school Tuesday and Wednesday until 3:15 for students who want to sign up and work together on the coding missions, but you can also log in and participate from home. If you are interested in learning more about coding and robotics, this fun competition is for you! No experience required!

It was a great day for running last Wednesday AND Saturday. The cross country team swept their final home meet on Wednesday with the girls and boys teams defeating Jaffrey.  On Saturday the team traveled to Londonderry for the State Championships.  Everyone ran hard!  The boys showed excellent team running earning a medal by finishing 3rd overall. We wish our 8th graders good luck at KHS and look forward to next year’s Cardinals Cross Country team!

On Saturday KMS hosted a soccer tournament. The girls A team played a tough first game losing 3-1 against Milford. In the second game, the girls came away with a tie 1-1 against Rundlett . The pressure was on in our final game and the girls came away with a 5-0 win against Twin Valley, putting them in the championship! The team lost the championship game but took second place in the tournament! What a great way to wrap up the season ladies!
