Informational Nonfiction

Philosophy

The emphasis on nonfiction is equal to or perhaps even greater than that of fiction. Research supports the idea that students in the US do a very good job reading fiction due to the emphasis placed on this genre throughout the grades. As a nation our students quickly fall behind others in their ability to read nonfiction, when in fact this will be the majority of what they read as they continue through school and beyond.
